Zones of Regulation: How are you feeling?

This term we are having a focus in Room 8 on managing ourselves and our emotions. It is important to be able to know how we are feeling and that it is ok to feel those emotions. The thing we need to work on is managing how we behave when we are feeling sad, angry, happy etc.

Today we had a look at the "Zones of regulation" and how to support ourselves when we are feeling different ways.

Check out this video to help explain what the zones are:

One of the key parts of this video is to remember that it is absolutely FINE to feel any of these emotions. Whether you are in the blue zone, red zone or green zone it is normal. It is even expected to be in each of these zones everyday! What we must work on is how we manage ourselves and our behaviour.

Room 8 had a go at reflecting on what their different zones looked like and how they could manage themselves. Take a look at their excellent work!
